A Thoughtful Transformation in a Petite Kitchen
Small kitchen, big glow‑up energy
Transforming this petite kitchen was an exercise in intention. Compact spaces often get written off as limiting, but with the right approach, they can become some of the most rewarding areas to reimagine. This project was a perfect example of how thoughtful organization can completely shift the way a home feels and functions.
The existing layout offered charm, but it lacked the storage needed for everyday ease. By introducing new cabinetry and reimagining her storage from the ground up, I carved out a surprising amount of additional space — enough to finally clear the countertops and restore a sense of calm to the room. What once felt cluttered and cramped now feels open, intentional, and genuinely enjoyable to use.
Small kitchens may not offer endless square footage, but they do offer opportunities to get creative. With smart planning and a willingness to rethink what’s possible, even the tiniest corners of a home can become streamlined, functional, and deeply supportive of daily life. I’m grateful for the chance to help this homeowner experience her kitchen in a whole new way — one that feels lighter, clearer, and beautifully aligned with how she wants to live.
My Process: Thoughtful Planning, Smart Sourcing, & Intentional Design
Every project begins with understanding how a space needs to support the person living in it. For this kitchen, that meant taking a close look at what wasn’t working — crowded countertops, limited storage, and cabinetry that simply wasn’t maximizing the room’s potential. From there, I mapped out a plan that balanced function, aesthetics, and budget.
A key part of this transformation involved sourcing new cabinetry that fit her style and her price point. I explored multiple options, compared materials and configurations, and ultimately selected pieces that offered the most storage impact without overwhelming the space. By choosing cabinetry that worked smarter, not bigger, we were able to open up the room in a way that felt both intentional and effortless.
Once the new storage foundation was in place, I reorganized her kitchen with a focus on clarity and ease — creating zones, reducing visual clutter, and making sure every item had a home. The result is a space that feels calmer, lighter, and far more functional, all achieved through thoughtful planning and mindful choices.
